Frequently asked questions about working with us
How do I start working with you?
We want to make this process as easy as possible for you. We generally start by setting up a meeting to discuss your needs and goals. Prior to this meeting, we ask you to complete a confidential questionnaire that helps us make the most of the time. Together, we'll define your goals and help you map out a plan to achieve them. Then, we prepare any necessary documents, handle any deposit transactions or help transfer assets, as needed. We continue to work with you throughout the year to manage the details and keep you on track.

I live thousands of miles away from your office in Seattle. Can I still do business with you?
Absolutely. The majority of our clients live outside the Seattle area, and many of them have never even visited our offices. You can get all the benefits of our services by telephone, fax, regular mail, e-mail and our website. In addition we hold frequent investment workshops throughout the United States, and the chances are high that we'll present one within driving distance of your home. Check out our schedule of workshops for the next event in your area.
Who will I meet with at my initial consultation?
We will introduce you to your lead money manager with the specific expertise you need as indicated by the answers to our questionnaire. You will also have a larger money management team who will work with your lead, as necessary, to make sure all your questions are answered and needs are met.
How much do you charge for your services?
Our investment services are fee-based, which means we don't work on a commission. Our fees are based on a percentage of your account balance, and they are graduated depending on the size of your account.
Our accounting and money management services are billed hourly or based on the type of service agreement you have chosen.
How often will I receive statements on my account?
Depending on the type of account you have, you will receive either monthly or quarterly statements from the custodian of your assets (Schwab or Fidelity, for instance) and a quarterly roll-up statement from us.
